The superior illumination system allows bright even illumination under all magnifications. A voltage sensing power supply optimizes light intensity regardless of voltage fluctuations . The illumination system is easily upgradeable from the interchangeable 20w to a 35w lamp. These lamps have a life 20 times longer then other microscope manufactures. In addition an easily removed diffuser can provide more than 400% more light then any other microscope in its class.
The optics on the DM E are infinity-corrected which provide superior image quality comparable with the higher performance Leica microscopes. The Seidentopf design available in binocular & trinocular formats allows adjustment of interpupilary distances without focusing. The standard widefield 10x eyepieces can accommodate 21 mm reticules for a variety of counting and measuring applications. Standard C Achromatic provide high quality contrast & quality, with true color and flatness that one would expect in a Leica lens. Higher performance optics are also available. The standard pre-centered condenser eliminates improper microscope set-up.
The DM E was designed for long lasting use. The cast aluminum stand minimizes vibrations for durability and fatigue free stable operation & long life performance. The microscope is ergonomically designed with a 45 degree angle for comfort, with easy to reach low positioned stage controls. The nosepiece is rear facing and allows easy access to the slide and objectives. Fine & coarse coaxial mechanisms are low set for comfortable operation.
A number of formats and accessories are available for brightfield, darkfield, phase & darkfield microscopy applications. In addition multi viewing accessories are available for additional users. The DM E is completely upgradeable and compatible with other Lecia DM accessories thus allowing for future expansion.
